An exceptional hand embroidered chasuble in Moire fabric (100% viscose) adorned with exquisite 'Christ the King' hand embroidery. Plain 'O' neck. Complete with inside stole.
During the Second World War embroidered reproductions of valuable oil paintings were created in the Slabbinck workrooms as a way to retain their skilled staff. This 'Christ the King' chasuble is a re-issue of just such a masterpiece, the original is still in the hands of the Slabbinck family. It expresses the great tradition of hand embroidery and textile manufacture in Flanders.
